Stuck Like Glue

This has become one of my favorite songs.
Thank you Chelsea Kimzey for introducing it to me.

The music video is ridiculous... but oh so funny!
Especially since Captain Awesome from Chuck is the guy in the music video.

If you do not watch Chuck... you are missing out!
Chuck is great!

And Zachary Levi is also the voice of Flynn Ryder from Tangled.
Which is just about the most amazing movie ever!

And I feel like I am just rambling on.
Now you can see how my mind works...

Well that's all for tonight.
I hope you enjoyed the music video and all my randomness!

The Roller Coaster Ride Called Life

My Past 24 Hours:
Up
Down
Up
Down
Up

That it is what my emotions have been like.
It has be a roller coaster ride today for sure.
But as long as the ride is going up I'm doing great!
And right now, it is definitely up. :)
If you had told me earlier today that it would be up by the end of the day
I probably wouldn't have believed you.
But now that it is up, I couldn't be happier.

A shout out definitely goes to my dear Frezbians: Liz Waite and Jenn Hansen.
Thanks girls for listening to me and giving me advice.
And Elysia Broderick. What would I do without you?!
Another shout out to my wonderful home teachers.
Sam and Spencer, you guys were able to give me the comfort I needed.
I am just so thankful for all the people in my life!

Most importantly, my Heavenly Father has been with me on the roller coaster ride today.
He knows what is coming after each turn.
He has let me know that if I just follow Him, I will be blessed.
And I know He is right.
Just putting my faith in Him, I've realized how He really does have a plan for me.

Its a good thin I love roller coaster rides.
Otherwise, I would not be enjoying my life!
So hop on.
Fasten your seat belts
AND ENJOY THE RIDE!!

Deaf or Blind

Have you ever wondered what it would be like being either deaf or blind?

This past week I've experienced what it would be like with both of them...

And let me be the first to tell you... It is NOT fun.

My first experience was with being blind. In my Art of Emotional Wellness class (just the name should give you an idea of how ridiculous the class is), my professor decided that he wanted us to experience life without worrying about seeing things. He wanted us to use our other senses to find our way around. He had the whole class put on blindfolds and hold hands as he guided us outside where we were asked to walk around and explore. It was difficult at first but then you started getting used to it and it wasn't all that bad of an experience. It definitely made me think of what it would be like to be blind. And I am very thankful for my sight (even if it is not the greatest), but I realized it would be ok to get by without seeing. The bad part is that you wouldn't be able to see all the beauty around you. I would definitely not choose to be blind, but given the choice between being blind and deaf, hands down I would choose being blind.

Being deaf is no bueno. I've had an ear infection that started coming on last Monday. I wrote it off as nothing and didn't try and do anything for it. It wasn't until Friday that I realized it really was a problem. I woke up Friday and could not hear out of my left ear. I thought it would go away like it had been the past few days. But I tried and tried and tried to get it to clear and it would not. I was so furious. So I just let it go. I was like it will go away if I just leave it alone. Well... it didn't. It only go worse. I could still hear, just not the well. Everything was muffled. And I was annoyed beyond belief. The pain only got worse throughout the day, which was not good because I had promised a friend I'd go to his band's gig that night (I still went). The pain didn't disappear. Saturday it was still bad and started going out in my right ear. At that point my mom had figured I had an ear infection. She told me to use these essential oils that should help. So I used them. It helped a little but not a whole lot. But then it started happening to my right ear. So both ears were out of commission. It is very frustrating not being able to hear. It is now Monday and I am still having a hard time hearing. It is probably the most annoying, painful thing ever!! I can't stand not being able to hear what people are saying!!

That's when I figured it out...

Being deaf is far worse than being blind.

That is my personal opinion at least. I would much rather be able to hear what is going on and not see than being able to see and not hear. It just shows how much I like to be in the know. It bothers me when I don't know what is going on. I just like knowing things for my own self. That's why I get annoyed when people won't tell me things. So if you love me, you will fill me in on all the deets :)

Frezbians

This post goes out to the one and only Jennifer Hansen. Check out her blog: http://anythingbutordinary-jenn.blogspot.com. Its great!

So tonight, during institute, I was sitting next to my dear friend, Liz Waite. A little fact about Liz that is important to know for this post is that she likes her personal space. Especially when it is someone of the same sex that is getting close to her. Ha Ha! But anywho... as I was sitting next to Liz, I reached over and took her hand because I know it freaks her out just a little bit and its funny to see her reaction. She was flipping out and I just could not help but laugh.

Then later on we were talking to dear Jenn Hansen. I started telling Jenn what I did during institute and she got a good laugh out of it. She turned to Liz and was like "Oh its ok you can be frezbians!" Liz and I just laughed our heads off! We loved the term that Jenn just came up with at that time... If you have not figured it out yet, frezbians is a term for same sex friends with benefits. Or at least that is how Jenn worded it. It was the funniest moment of my night! Thank you J-Dawg for giving me such a great laugh... You are a great frezbian! :)

Comfort Zone

Comfort zone: a behavioral state within which a person operates in an anxiety- neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviors to deliver a steady level of performance, usually without a sense of risk

We all have our comfort zones that we life in. We don't like to step outside of our comfort zone if we can help it. Some times we tip-toe around the edge, but never to the point of actually stepping outside of it.

Well today I didn't just step out of my comfort zone... I LEAPED out of it!

Yeah that's right. I took a big leap into the unknown. It was probably the scariest, most frightening thing I have ever done. But I won't lie... It was probably one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. I feel like now I can do anything! I feel so empowered because of that one leap of faith. I'm sorry I'm being vague and am not going into details of what this "leap" was. I just am not sure I want to go into full details of something that could potentially lead to drama. If ya know what I mean.

But I think you should all look for some way to step outside of your comfort zone! It will help you become more confident in yourselves!! Just try it!

April Fools

Once a year, the day before my birthday, comes a very funny day.

April Fools Day.

We have all grown up knowing this is a day for the comedians.
Jokes and foolishness all around!
Some people try to be funny.
But fail.
Such as posting on Facebook that they're now "in a relationship"
To others, it comes naturally.
I was the victim of two of these natural jokesters.

Today I was in the library with Mitch, Carson, and Ricky.
I was helping Mitchell decide if he really wants to buy this gun or not.
Carson was watching billiard tricks.
And Ricky started playing some maze game.
I asked Ricky what he was playing
He told me it didn't matter because it was "TOO" hard for a girl.
I just ignored him.
A few minutes later, I noticed that Carson was playing the game.
He lost and was like
"Man that game is hard! You should try it Alexa!"
So I decided to try it.
And I was doing really well!
I had gotten to the last level and started to get nervous.
I was almost to the end...
YES! I made it!
I beat the game!!
Then...
A scary lady, who was screaming, popped up on the screen!
I screamed and jumped up from the computer!
I went back to my seat and put my head down.
I thought for sure I'd be kicked out.
Carson, Ricky and Mitch could not stop laughing.
I was so embarrassed.
I'm sure my face was bright red from the humiliation.
Ricky was then like "April Fools!"

I have to hand it to the two of them.
It was definitely the BEST April Fools joke ever pulled on me.
It has made for some good laughs
They are pro jokesters.

Happy April Fools Day you fools! :)
